No longer on the battlefield, Sagara Sousuke has been ordered back to the school life, but he still hasn't adjusted to normal people away from war. He lacks common sense and people skills and often mistakes simple objects as dangerous weapons.
One morning at school, Sousuke suspects that someone has been into his shoebox. Assuming it was an explosive he set up his own and caused it to ignite... only to find out later that it was a harmless love letter as pointed out earlier to him by Kaname Chidori. Sousuke's new mission is to watch over her at high school, and even though it doesn't look like they get a long, Chidori does show that she cares about him.
Taking place sometime after the original series, Full Metal Panic!, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu focuses on short stories and school life and the antics of Sousuke and Chidori.
